From famed national parks to historically significant ancestral lands, Sensei invites you to explore awe-inspiring terrain on its first Coachella Valley hiking retreat, designed for intermediate and advanced hikers. Over four nights during a holiday weekend, you will venture through two trails in Indian Canyons, above Joshua Tree National Park and into the Colorado Desert for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Under the direction of Sensei Guides and with cultural insight from the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, fuel your passion for nature as you gain a unique perspective on this bucket list locale. Off-trail, relax and prepare for the days ahead with restorative spa treatments, private wellbeing 1:1s, and curated activities with like-minded adventure and wellness enthusiasts.

Rates for the four-night retreat start at $13,200 (single)/$9,200 per person (double) or $11,200 per person (in shared 4-bedroom Villa with your own primary suite)

* Limited spots available, inclusions are for one guest per stay, unless otherwise indicated. Hiking trails are weather dependent, programming subject to change. Group meals exclude alcohol. Rates do not include applicable taxes, service charges, levies, gratuities and surcharges, unless otherwise noted. Due to the unique nature of our Resort, all guests must be at least 18 years of age. 50% deposit collected at time of booking, fully refundable up until 60 days prior to travel. Remainder of deposit due at 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellations within 45 days will forfeit full deposit.

Meet one of your hiking experts
The rocky landscapes and vibrant flora of the Coachella Valley have been home to Anthony Purnel and his ancestors for generations. A Cultural Ambassador and member of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, Anthony holds exceptional knowledge of the area and unparalleled expertise as a hiker, having completed a daunting 2,660-mile solo trek on the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. On your first hike day, you’ll traverse the scenic Andreas and Palm Canyons with Anthony as your guide offering insightful accounts of the canyons’ history and culture.
